Your Way or His?

Your Way Or His?

The Scriptures clearly direct us to “lean not on our own understanding” (Proverbs 3:5 NIV). The Word of God is our steady guide. It will lead us to God, to well-being, to blessings and purpose. Feelings are good, instincts are helpful, and common sense can be useful, but when all is said and done, only His Word stands and is true and reliable. Our understanding of things and of life will often lead us astray. Our minds will rationalize good and evil with that ominous, original tendency birthed in the garden, the inclination to be like God.

Human nature will always seek its own way, its own Tower of Babel, its own system of righteousness, of right and wrong. Without God, humanity will always seek man-made idols that cannot speak, that have no power, no life, and no hope. With unwavering faith, we must be willing to walk in the light of His Word, regardless of any directive the world may give us. Trusting Him and acknowledging Him will always lead to blessings and a guaranteed gracious outcome.

Lord, I pray, may we each choose wisely in the affairs of life, for truly the cost is high, but the reward is precious. Go with God and He will go with you.

Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. (Proverbs 3:56 KJV)

And your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, “This is the way, walk in it,” when you turn to the right or when you turn to the left. (Isaiah 30:21 ESV)
